Step One

* Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

* If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

* Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals, or holiday_wishes/wish_list) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

*Yarn! I'm wanting to make a rug for my living room (so we don't destroy the carpet that housing just put down for us) I need LOTS.

*Cross stitch & crochet magazines. Old or new works for me!

*Music. Anything you listen to. I'm always looking for good workout music. I'd love a cd of your favorite music.

*Little spiral notebooks from the dollar store. Nathan LOVES Blue's Clues and he loves to have a "handy dandy notebook" to color in. We go through so many of them and we don't have dollar stores up here :(

*Tea! I prefer flavored black but all works. No coconut, please, I'm allergic.

*Anything from my Amazon Wish List or my Etsy Wish List

*I'd never say no to books. I love books

*Guided meditations on cd. I'm not gifted at meditation and it seems that guided is the only way to go :)

*Send a soldier a care package. So many of them have no family or don't have families with the means to send them something. It means the world to them while they're deployed. There are so many sites that do this, you can google them or here are a few:
Any Soldier
Operation Gratitude
Operation Shoebox
They will appreciate anything from a simple Christmas card to a box of random stuff. Don't send perishables, it might take a while to get to them :)

*I'm not picky, I love getting mail. It's fun and it always makes my day :) So even just a holiday card will be a fun ray of sunshine

*Send me a recipe. An easy, quick recipe for something that's awesome tasting. I'm always looking for fun new recipes. I especially love easy & quick but any will do. If you're sending me a bread recipe, I totally understand that it won't be quick :) It's okay, though, because I really loved making bread the last time I did it so I want to do more!
